VENTURING (AGES 14 – 20)
Venturing is a co-ed program that provides young men and women ages 14 through 20 the opportunity to enjoy high adventure outdoor activities and real-world leadership experiences, with increasing responsibility, in a challenging personal development program.
WHAT WILL I DO IN VENTURING?
Venturing is only limited by the imagination of its crew members. Venturing Crews select an activity or focus that may change with the interest of its members. Some examples include:
- Camping
- Rock Climbing
- Backpacking
- Cycling
- Sports
- Scuba Diving
The aims of Venturing within every Crew are Adventure, Leadership, Personal Growth, and Service.
HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
Crews decide how often they meet and typically meet weekly or monthly.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The National registration cost for youth is $80/year plus a one-time $25 new member fee.
Each Crew determines other dues based on their activity calendar.
Most costs can be partially or fully covered by fundraisers such as Camp Cards and Popcorn.
HOW DO WE GET STARTED?
You can join a Venturing Crew any time, at any point in the year!
You can use the tool at www.beascout.org to select your age group, find a unit near you, and reach out to the leaders of that unit about joining! They will have you complete an application and submit it, and then you can Start Scouting!
